Smith's Nursery is a
family owned and operated wholesale nursery and produce farm.
The nursery has been operating in Johnston County, NC for over 20
years.
The Smith's Nursery
Doorstep Market program provides a renewed connection between the
consumer and the farmer. Members of the Doorstep Market will
receive a box of fresh, local, seasonal produce delivered to their
neighborhood each week. Orders and payments are made
weekly. There are no commitments or obligations.
The Doorstep Market is a
form of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). CSA is a way
for the food buying public to create a relationship with a farm and
to receive a weekly portion of fresh produce. This mutually
supportive relationship between the farmers, growers, and community
members helps create a farm operation in which members receive
high quality produce, often at below standard retail prices.
Members of the Smith's
Nursery Doorstep Market will benefit by being able to make informed
decisions about where their food comes from and the social and
environmental impact of those purchases. We are committed to
letting you know where, how and by whom your food is grown. Much of the produce
found at the grocery store travels an average of 1,300 miles from
farm to table. A box of Smith's Nursery seasonal produce
consists of fruits and vegetables grown locally, picked fresh, and
delivered to your neighborhood.
