TIP OF THE MONTH
November 2007
-
Fall is a great time to
plant trees, shrubs,
bulbs, perennials, grass
seed and sod. When
planted in the fall,
plants can enjoy cooler
temperatures and ideal
growing conditions that
allow roots ample time
to grow into the
surrounding soil.
-
Some plants and trees
that provide color and
interest in the month of
November include
Camellia, Nandina, Knock
Out Roses, Red Maples
and Japanese Maples.
-
Ornamental grasses
provide wonderful
interest at this time of
year.
-
Remember, Do Not prune
azaleas, rhododendrons
and other spring
flowering shrubs because
they have already set
their buds for next
year's blooms.
