October is the perfect month to plant!  The cooler weather and shorter days bring plants into dormancy.  While dormant, plants can focus energy on establishing strong root systems.  Trees, shrubs, and perennials that are planted in the fall will be better suited for a spring flush and can withstand summer droughts and hot weather.  Smith's Nursery grows a large selection of woody trees and shrubs that a perfect for fall planting!
